Eric Dier reveals what he has been telling Son ‘before every game’

Eric Dier has revealed that he keeps telling Son Heung-min before every game that he can win the Premier League Golden Boot.

Son has been on fire in front of goal over recent months, with the South Korean now having scored more non-penalty goals than any other Premier League player this season.

The 29-year-old’s effort in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw at Anfield brought his tally up to 20 goals for the season – just two behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.

Given the form that the former Bayern Leverkusen man is displaying, he has a fighting chance of overtaking the Liverpool forward, with three games left to go in the campaign.

Spurs fans will certainly be hoping that Son can fire them to a top-four finish and secure the Golden Boot in the process.

Dier raved about how much the forward has improved since he arrived from Germany and admitted that he and his teammates are keen to help Son finish as the top goalscorer.

The centre-back told Spurs TV about Son: “He’s improved so much. He keeps on improving. Before every game, I’m telling him that top scorer is there.

“He needs to believe it and he does, he’s getting closer. I hope as a team we can help him get that achievement.”

Given the form Son is in, one would certainly expect him to put away most of the chances that come his way. The South Korean is the sort of character who will only be focused on helping the team win rather than individual accolades but he certainly deserves the Golden Boot for the season he has had.
