Eric Dier reveals what Joe Hart has added to the Tottenham camp after free transfer

Tottenham Hotspur may have made some shrewd transfer additions in Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for the first-team, but that is not the only business the Lilywhites have done this summer.

Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy also decided to bring in Joe Hart on a free transfer after the former England number one was released by Burnley in June.

The 33-year-old comes with vast experience having played over 540 career matches, as well as winning both the Premier League and FA Cup in his past. Hart was also capped 75 times for England (Wikipedia).

The former Man City shot-stopper has already been involved in multiple pre-season matches for Spurs and made the bench ahead of Paulo Gazzaniga for the Premier League game against Everton on Sunday.

In his pre-match press conference ahead of the Europa League match against Lokomotiv Plovdiv tomorrow night, Eric Dier was full of praise for his former England teammate.

Dier highlighted Hart’s energy, work ethic, and big-game experience, as well as his dedication to helping his teammates even outside of training hours.

Dier said (Football London): “He’s been fantastic. He’s someone I knew beforehand but the energy he brings into the building and his work ethic is great. He’s won big trophies and played big games but just now he was out there after training, saving ten penalties from people and five free-kicks from others. He’s still willing to work so hard and make those sacrifices. I’m sure he’s going to be great from us. He did save one penalty from me….from four.”
