Eric Dier sends heart-warming gift and message to the Ventrone family

Gian Piero Ventrone’s son, Ivan, has posted a picture of the gift Eric Dier gave to the Ventrone family, which included a touching message about the impact the recently deceased Spurs fitness coach had on the centre-back’s career.

In just over ten months that he spent as Tottenham’s fitness coach, Ventrone seems to have left a major mark on everyone at the club, especially the players.

Every single player at the club was visibly devastated by the Italian’s sudden passing and several of them including the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur (Sky Sports) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Football.London) have spoken in glowing terms of the impact he had on the team’s fitness and their ability to push beyond their limits.

Dier is certainly one person who has reaped the benefits of working with Conte and his staff, with the centre-back establishing himself as a mainstay in the Tottenham backline and earning a return to the England squad.

The 28-year-old has now decided to gift the England shirt he received during his latest call-up to the Ventrone family, with a written message on it about the impact that the former Spurs fitness coach had on his footballing career.

Dier’s message reads: “To the Ventrone family. Gian Piero helped me wear this shirt again. I will carry his values everyday with me. Best wishes, Eric.”

Ivan Ventrone posted a picture of the shirt on his Instagram stories, along with the caption: “I’ll be forever your supporter. Exactly as my dad did @ericdier15”.

Spurs Web Opinion

Human nature is such that it is often difficult to like a superior who is extremely demanding and makes one work their socks off. Most of us would have found that to be true in our professional lives.

However, it is clear that Ventrone bucked that trend as the players absolutely adored him despite the fact that he often put them through hell with his demanding fitness regime. That shows how special a person the Italian was.
