Erik Lamela becomes first Spurs player to take to social media after Fulham postponement

Erik Lamela became the first Tottenham Hotspur player to take to social media after the club’s Premier League match against Fulham was postponed yesterday afternoon.

It became the third Premier League game of the season to be postponed following a surge in COVID-19 positive tests ahead of kick-off.

Fulham suffered an outbreak ahead of the trip to North London and was set to kick off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 6pm yesterday.

Ahead of the planned kick off, Jose Mourinho vented his frustration on Instagram that his side were still in the dark over whether the game would go ahead shortly after 2pm.

The Argentine midfielder sent a message of good wishes to everyone at Fulham as they look to recover from the virus.

No date has been confirmed as of yet for the re-scheduling of the fixture, with the Premier League fixture calendar already looking hectic heading into 2021.

Spurs are next in action on January 2nd when they host newcomers Leeds United.
