Erik Ten Hag has now admitted that Christian Eriksen, Luka Shaw and Harry Maguire could feature against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Tottenham go into the clash against Man Utd without many of their key players, with Son Heung-min, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr away on Asian Cup and African Cup of Nations duty.
Meanwhile, James Maddison and Cristian Romero remain sidelined with injuries, but Spurs are expected to have Micky van de Ven back, who confirmed to the club’s official website this week that he is ready to play in Manchester.
Ange Postecoglou can also call on the services of Timo Werner, who has joined Spurs on a loan deal until the end of the season. Interestingly, reports indicate that the Lilywhites saw off competition from the Red Devils to land the German international (The Athletic).
Man United could welcome back key players vs Spurs
Man Utd have also been ravaged by injuries over the last couple of months but it has now emerged that they could have three key men back for the clash against the North London side.
Ten Hag confirmed that while Mason Mount is not expected to be fit, he is hopeful of having Eriksen, Shaw and Maguire available.
The Dutch coach said (via 90 min): “Some players, it is hopeful that they can be back for the weekend. Christian Eriksen, potentially Luke Shaw. Harry maybe. Mason, he needs some days or a week more.”
Spurs Web Opinion
This will certainly not be an easy game as United are much more effective when they play on the counter-attack, which they will get to do against Spurs. The pace of Rashford and Garnacho will be a major threat on the break for Postecoglou’s men.
