Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen was arguably the star of the show as Spurs dismissed Bournemouth 5-0 at Wembley stadium on boxing day.

The result sees the Lillywhites climb to the second place in the table ahead of Manchester City.

Eriksen opened the scoring for Tottenham when his deflected shot from the edge of the box found the back of the net. Heung-Min Son scored yet another brace while Moura and Kane got one each in a match where Tottenham looked in cruise control right from kick-off.

However, it was not just on the pitch that Eriksen seems to be in form, but off it as well. After the game the midfielder took to Instagram to post an image along of his strike with a caption that read ‘ Harry Kane, you think I can claim this one?’.

The post was poking fun at the fact that Kane claimed a goal against Stoke last season, insisting he had touched the ball after a free kick that Eriksen swung into the box found its way into the back of the net. Kane was eventually awarded the goal.

This comes just days after Eriksen trolled midfielder Moussa Sissoko for writing ‘jobe done’ in a tweet.

Tottenham desperately need to sign Eriksen up to a new contract soon as not only is the Dane irreplaceable on the field, but he also seems to be important for the team’s camaraderie.
