Tottenham Hotspur fans may not have been expecting too many tweets from their players today after that embarrassing display against Bayern last night.
Spurs went 1-0 up in the important Champions League game before hitting the self-destruct button yet again, eventually conceding seven to the German champions.
Jan Vertonghen started the match at centre-back, while Christian Eriksen came on as a second-half substitute.
However, the great Dane has not taken to Twitter to address the result today, but to put to bed a disgusting rumour that has been going around social media.
One Twitter user, quoted by Eriksen, claimed that the Dane’s partner had allegedly been caught having an affair with Jan Vertonghen.
Unsurprisingly, Eriksen has come out and labelled the claims as lies, with Jan Vertonghen also tweeting support for his friend and teammate.
Eriksen and Vertonghen have been regulars in the Tottenham squad for the majority of the season so far, but both have under a year left on their current contracts.
