Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen’s future with Spurs looks extremely uncertain at the moment as there has been no progress in the talks between the player’s representatives and the club on a new contract.
The Dane will be into the final year of his contract at the end of the season, and has been linked with moves to the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the summer.
Eriksen has been criticised for his recent form in a Spurs shirt as some Spurs fans have alleged on the back of his recent performances that he has already made his mind up about leaving the club.
The midfielder was back to his best last evening as Tottenham put Huddersfield to the sword last evening.
While the 27-year-old has had a sub-par season by his high standards, his assist for Lucas Moura’s second goal yesterday means that he is now tied with Eden Hazard for the most assists this season in the Premier League – 12.
The fact that he is still setting up more goals than any other player in the league despite not being at his best, is an indication as to how important the Dane is for Pochettino’s side.
Tottenham will certainly have their work cut out in finding a replacement for Eriksen should he depart in the summer.
