Eriksen is having his worst season and Son his best – so why does the Dane have more goal involvements?

Christian Eriksen was Tottenham’s late hero last night as his 88th minute goal grabbed all three points for the Lilywhites, extending their Premier League lead in third place.

However, despite his heroics, many Spurs fans consider this to be Eriksen’s worst season in a Tottenham shirt, as he has struggled to find form over recent months.

Similarly, it has undoubtedly been Heung Min Son’s best ever season for the Lilywhites, as he has shone each and every time the club have needed him in Kane’s absence.

So, why does Eriksen have more goal involvements than Son in the Premier League this season?

Eriksen currently leads the way in terms of assists in the League, with 12, as well as bagging seven goals so far this campaign.

While Son has 12 goals in a Spurs shirt, he only has six assists, meaning his 18 goal involvements fall short of Eriksen’s 19.

Is Eriksen unfairly judged, does he drift in and out of games, or is he actually having a better season than he is given credit for?
