‘Erratic and uncertain’ – On-loan Spurs star slammed for another poor performance

Tanguy Ndombele has been slammed for his performance against West Ham United after Lyon were dumped out of the Europa League.

Ndombele has produced some moments of real quality since his loan move to Lyon in January but the midfielder has also been guilty of some poor displays.

In fact, the last week has been a microcosm of what the Frenchman has produced since his return to the Groupama Stadium.

Ndombele was the star of the show against a ten-man West Ham side in the first leg last Thursday, with the 25-year-old finding the back of the net to help the Ligue 1 side emerge with a 1-1 draw from the London Stadium.

The midfielder, however, looked lacklustre at the weekend as Strasbourg held Peter Bosz’s side to a 1-1 draw over the weekend.

The on-loan Spurs star has followed that up with a poor display against the Hammers in the second leg yesterday as David Moyes’ side emerged comfortable winners. Ndombele was substituted at half-time, with the away side already two goals up at the interval.

Get Frech Football News have given the midfielder a rating of just 3/10 and wrote about his display: “Erratic on the ball and often uncertain positionally, he was subbed at halftime after running the first leg with West Ham down to ten men. This was a low point of his second spell at OL.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Any hopes Spurs had of getting a decent transfer fee for Ndombele are now quickly fading. It is starting to look like our decision in 2019 to pay a big fee for the Frenchman and hand him a bumper long-term contract is one of the worst pieces of business we have ever done.
