European giants could hand Tottenham transfer headache in the race to sign Eberechi Eze

Tottenham’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze, which was already very complicated may have become even more difficult after a transfer insider revealed the attacking midfielder is now on the radar of one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that over recent weeks, some outlets have installed Tottenham as one of the front-runners to sign Eze this summer.

There were even suggestions that Spurs were ready to submit their opening offer for the Crystal Palace man, but the situation appears to have got more complicated since then.

However, more recently, we have found out that Spurs may face competition from Manchester City for Eze, while their cross-city rivals, Man United have also been credited with an interest in Eze.

Eberechi Eze is attracting interest from Bayern Munich

Former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains well-connected with those who work in the game, has now revealed that the Palace man is wanted by Bayern Munich.

He explained that his former Eagles teammate, Michael Olise, will have spoken to the England international about linking up with him at the Allianz Arena.

Brown told Football Insider: “Eze is one of the names Bayern are looking at. They had a lot of success with Michael Olise coming in from Palace, he’s been terrific for them, so they’re hoping the same might happen with Eze.

“Those two have quite a close relationship as well, so I have no doubt they’ll have spoken about it. He’ll sell it to him because he’s clearly enjoyed his time there. Having those connections already at a club is always a boost for these types of deals.

“I think the move would suit him, too, he’d have a bit more space to play his game. It’s definitely something I think could happen because they’re looking to strengthen on that left-hand side with Coman and Sane both looking like they’ll leave. They’ve got a few targets in mind, and he’s on their list.”

Eze’s potential move to Bayern Munich may have a silver lining for Spurs

The fact that Brown mentions Eze is seen by Bayern as a potential replacement for Leroy Sane, who is out of contract at Bavaria, is interesting from a Spurs perspective.

Reports over recent days have said that Tottenham are increasingly confident of landing Sane should the German international not be able to agree on a new deal at Bayern.

If the Bundesliga side manage to secure Eze’s services, that might open the door for Spurs to seal a deal for the former Manchester City man.
