European star reveals Tottenham made him cry all night this season

At half-time in the Champions League semi-final second leg between Tottenham and Ajax, many would have been convinced that the Dutch side would be playing in the final a week today.

However, despite facing a 3-0 aggregate deficit, Spurs managed to turn the tie around courtesy of a second-half hat-trick from Lucas Moura.

After scoring two in the space of four minutes at the start of the second 45, it looked as if Spurs would fall just short in their first ever Champions League final, before Lucas Moura swept home a 96th-minute winner to crush Ajax hearts.

Spurs now face a date with fellow comeback kings and Premier League side Liverpool on June 1 in Madrid.

Ajax star Dusan Tadic, who has scored a whopping 38 goals in all competitions for the Dutch giants this season, has now revealed that he cried all night after that result.

Spurs fans will now be praying that the can cause a few tears across Liverpool come the end of the final.

Tadic said (Ajax Life – as quoted by Standard): “It had been a while since Ajax won the double. This was a fantastic season, we became increasingly hungry. Ajax made the Champions League exciting. We deserved to play the final.

“You know, when I’m disappointed, I like to cry. Surrendering yourself to the emotion. Then you get it all out of your body.

“When I got home, I turned on some sad Serbian music and sat on the couch. Then I went to bed. I think I seriously didn’t cry for an hour that night. When I saw my children the next morning, that also helped.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

In a way, it is a real shame that the likes of Ajax, Spurs, and Liverpool cannot all be rewarded for their incredible Champions League campaigns, and I respect what each side has achieved this season. However, there can only be one winner, and I pray that it is Hugo Lloris lifting that trophy come the final whistle.
