Even Pochettino is struggling to book hotels for the Champions League final

Tottenham Hotspur are through to the Champions League final, and it still does not get old writing that.

Spurs came from 3-0 down on aggregate at half-time against Ajax on Wednesday to progress with three away goals of their own.

Obviously, Tottenham supporters have been desperately trying to set up plans to head to Madrid for June 1st, but many have run into some pricey speed bumps.

The Daily Mail have reported that the cheapest room at the Hilton Madrid Airport is £2,301, despite the exact same room being just £124 a week later. They also add that some flights from London are costing almost £1,500.

However, it appears this issue is not limited to fans of Spurs and Liverpool, as even Mauricio Pochettino has been struggling to get hotel rooms booked for his family.

The Argentine has condemned the prices as ‘crazy’, as thousands of supporters desperately attempt to find an affordable route to Spain.

Poch said (Football London): “We started to talk with the club today and organise and see how it is going to work. Yesterday I was calling some hotel to try and book some rooms because I don’t know if my family is going to be there, some family, some people from Argentina and I wanted to book and it was so difficult and the prices are so crazy. I am very surprised, because it is normal, it is not normal, but it is normal that people take advantage of this type of opportunity to make benefit. I am suffering for both clubs and both fans, Liverpool fans because it is going to be so, so, so difficult to get the chance to arrive there, not only to find the ticket, if not to find a way to arrive to be there. It is going to be very, very difficult.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

This is football fan exploitation at its worst. There is no way airlines and hotel companies should be allowed to hike prices by these extremes. Loyal fans have probably already spent hundreds, if not thousands, on supporting their clubs this season, yet have to break the bank to enjoy potentially the biggest night in their team’s recent history. Absolutely disgusting.
