Everton defender selects Spurs star as one of the best in the world in his position

Everton defender Lucas Digne has praised the quality of Tottenham Hotspur captain Hugo Lloris.

Digne singled out the 34-year-old when he was asked to select an all-time best XI from players he’s played with at a club and international level, aside from those at his current employer.

The left-back has featured alongside Lloris for the French national side where the goalkeeper is also the captain, having helped his country to lift the World Cup in 2018 while Digne was left out of the squad by Didier Deschamps.

Digne labelled Lloris as one of the best goalkeepers in the world while also revealing that the former Lyon man is also happy to help his team-mates in any way possible.

One other current Tottenham player made Digne’s starting eleven with Serge Aurier having been selected at right-back following their time together at French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Aurier has fended off competition from summer arrival Matt Doherty to maintain his position as Tottenham’s first-choice right back this season.

Digne told BT Sport when asked about Lloris: “For me, he is one of the best keepers in the world. He’s a very good guy. He’s the captain of the national team, and if he can help you, he will do for sure,”
