Newcastle could swoop for Tottenham winger Niko Kranjcar next summer, although they may face competition from Everton who are also keen on the Croatian.
Kranjcar has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane following the arrival of Rafael van der Vaart this season and has yet to start a game for Spurs this season.
Harry Redknapp has insisted that the 26-year-old is still in his plans but a lack of regular football could persuade Niko to move on.
