Tottenham Hotspur fans certainly appreciate every opportunity anyone takes to get one over their North London rivals.

A horde of Arsenal fans took to social media to complain after Everton’s Lucas Digne foot appeared to be over the touchline when he took the throw-in which led to Phil Jagielka’s goal.

The Toffee defender’s close range tap in proved to be crucial, with the home side running out as 1-0 winners in a match they should have comfortably won by five or six.

Following the goal, one Arsenal Twitter account took the effort of quoting from the law of football handbook to try and argue the claim that the goal should not have been awarded.

Following the match, Digne replied to the Tweet with “When you loose [sic] and you have nothing to say”

Plenty of Spurs fans certainly will enjoy Digne’s response and also Everton’s win which means that Spurs remain in third place in the Premier League table.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. It’s funny how writers from this blog were crying out last week about Arsenal’s supposed obsession with the spuds just because of a few references to your new stadium (which lots of fans from other clubs were talking about too).

Yet, after defeat to Everton, this particular blog has churned out at least FOUR (with at least 3 ridiculous ones like this one) posts about Arsenal. Maybe “obsession” needs a new definition.

P.S. Can’t wait for City to knock y’all out of that Champs League so y’all can calm your tits for a while.
