The latest transfer development at Everton could be bad news for Tottenham in their pursuit of Iliman Ndiaye.
It emerged late on Saturday night that Tottenham and Everton had agreed a double deal for Ndiaye and Richarlison, who were set to head in opposite directions.
However, the transfer is yet to be finalised, with both clubs still waiting for the Brazilian striker to give the green light.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has claimed that Ndiaye’s move to Spurs could hinge on Richarlison going the other way, with the Brazilian having no shortage of suitors at the moment.
Everton send offer for potential alternative for Tottenham striker Richarlison
It is now being reported by multiple sources that Everton have launched an offer for Monaco striker Folarin Balogun, with the Tofees keen on landing a striker to replace the Fiorentina-bound Beto.
This includes Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on X: “Everton have sent an official bid to AS Monaco for Folarin Balogun as negotiations are ongoing. EFC is working to get a new striker as Beto will join Fiorentina for €17m fee.”
This information has also been backed up by journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who has said that Balogun is keen on moving to Merseyside and has reached an agreement on personal terms with the Toffees.
Tavolieri wrote on X: “Folarin Balogun wants to join Everton Football Club! The Toffees have submitted a proposal of €18M to their counterparts at AS Monaco and are pushing to sign the American striker. Balogun has an agreement with Everton.”
Does this mean Richarlison’s move to Everton is off
It is worth pointing out that neither Romano nor Tavolieri have explicitly said that Balogun is an alternative for Richarlison.
The Tottenham man is versatile, being capable of playing anywhere across the front three, which is why it is plausible that Everton want both players.
However, this is certainly not a good sign for Richarlison’s proposed move to Merseyside, and we will have to wait and see whether this affects Ndiaye’s move to N17.
