Everton will be looking at Spurs-linked free agent this summer – Journalist claims

Dean Jones has revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada, who has been mooted as a target for Tottenham, is also on Everton’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Kamada has been one of Frankfurt’s standout players this season, having found the back of the net 13 times, which includes a goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the group stage of the Champions League.

The attacking midfielder’s current deal at Deutsche Bank Park runs out in June and Sport 1 journalist Christopher Michel reported two weeks ago that the Japanese international has decided that he will not be renewing his contract.

Unsurprisingly, a whole host of clubs are thought to be monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation, with 90 min suggesting last week that Spurs might face competition from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Newcastle United for the player.

Jones believes that Kamada would also be a tempting option for Sean Dyche’s men, who are unlikely to have a big transfer budget for the summer.

When asked about Everton’s rumoured interest in the Frankfurt star, the journalist told Give Me Sport: “Yeah, I mean, they might have to look at him; we will have to see quite how bad or whether they’re improved on their financial aspects of the club.

“At this stage, you wouldn’t expect them to be having a big outlay. I think Sean Dyche is probably already understanding of that, but certainly, you know, he’s a player already on their radar they’ll be looking at.”

I personally think Kamada would be a better fit for Conte’s system than someone like Maddison as the Japanese international is defensively disciplined off the ball and can operate as part of the front three if required.

However, with Conte’s future at Spurs up in the air, it is anyone’s guess at the moment who our top targets will be in the summer.
