‘Every summer, it’s been the same’ – Spurs man dismisses reports he is leaving

Davinson Sanchez has dismissed the speculation linking him with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

As things stand, the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon appear to be on their way out of Spurs this summer after they were left out of the club’s pre-season tour to South Korea.

However, they might not be the only four players to leave Tottenham before the transfer window slams shut.

Reports over recent weeks have indicated that Antonio Conte is keen on signing another centre-back, with the club allegedly willing to move on Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga (talkSPORT).

Sanchez is another player whose future at Spurs has been cast into doubt, with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold reporting earlier this summer that the north London club could be tempted sell the former Ajax man if an attractive offer comes their way.

However, the Colombian has now dismissed the speculation, insisting that he is fully focused on helping the team achieve their objectives for the upcoming campaign.

When asked about the reports linking him with a move away from Spurs, Sanchez told Football.London: “Every summer it’s been the same. This is my sixth season here. We are focusing on the team and what the season means for this club.

“Of course, there are always possibilities but the Premier League is the best league in the world and you have to be part of it if you want to compete against the best players.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Spurs decided to keep Sanchez as cover instead of signing another centre-back this summer. I personally think the Colombian is not good enough in possession to play in our current system but it does appear as if Conte sees value in the 26-year-old.
