Every transfer deal done by Tottenham in January – Three ins and five outs

Tottenham did quite a lot of their transfer business on deadline day, with a total of eight players coming and going over the course of January.

Unlike last summer’s transfer window, when Spurs completed most of their deals early, this time, the club left fans sweating until late on, with the Pedro Porro deal only being announced on deadline day.

Two players in the form of Djed Spence and Matt Doherty had to make way for the Spaniard, with the former joining Rennes on loan at the end of the season while latter’s contract was terminated before he signed for Atletico Madrid.

Spurs also announced on deadline day that academy midfielder Harvey White and goalkeeper Adam Hayton joined Derby County and Barnsley respectively on temporary deals, while the academy ranks were strengthened by the arrival of 19-year-old striker Jude Soonsup-Bell from Chelsea.

Arnaut Danjuma had previously arrived on loan from Villarreal last week while Bryan Gil’s loan move to Sevilla was officially announced on Monday.

Here are all of Tottenham’s incomings and outgoings over the course of January:

Ins:

Arnaut Danjuma – Villarreal, loan
Pedro Porro – Sporting, £39m
Jude Soonsup-Bell – Chelsea, undisclosed

Outs:

Bryan Gil – Sevilla, loan
Matt Doherty – Atletico Madrid, free transfer
Djed Spence – Rennes, loan
Harvey White – Derby, loan
Adam Hayton – Barnsley, undisclosed

Spurs Web Opinion

It was reported ahead of the window that Conte’s priorities were signing an attacking player and a right wing-back and Tottenham have delivered both this window. While some might have wanted the club to do more business, the club’s top targets for central midfield, centre-back and goalkeeper, were never going to be available mid-season.
