‘Everyone knows’ – Spurs-linked striker makes admission about his future

Patrik Schick, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has revealed he is loving life in Germany and wants to remain at Bayer Leverkusen.

Schick, who finished as the joint-highest goalscorer at the European Championship last summer, has been on fire in front of goal in the Bundesliga this season.

The centre-forward has found the back of the net 17 times in the league for Leverkusen so far, with only Robert Lewandowski ahead of him in the race for the Golden Boot.

Tottenham are reportedly in the market for a striker this month and the Czech Republic international is alleged to be one of the names on the North London club’s radar.

90 min claimed last month that Antonio Conte’s men were battling it out with the likes of Manchester City, West Ham, Everton and Arsenal for Schick, who is alleged to be valued in excess of £50m by Leverkusen.

The 25-year-old, who has three and a half years left to run on his contract at the Bay Arena, has now distanced himself from speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League.

When asked about the transfer rumours, Schick told BILD: “Of course, it’s nice to read when you’re linked with the big clubs.

“But I’m really, really happy in Leverkusen and I want to go to the Champions League with Bayer 04. I love living in Germany.

“I’m not thinking about other clubs at all. Everyone knows my contract situation (his current deal runs until 2025).

“And I would never cause problems for a club and push through a transfer.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Schick is certainly a much more realistic target for Spurs than someone like Dusan Vlahovic. The Czech striker can cover effectively for Kane if the England captain needs some rest. He could be used as a direct option from the bench and partner Kane upfront if we are chasing a game.
