‘Everyone wants him to stay’ – Gareth Bale on Harry Kane’s Spurs future

Gareth Bale was asked about Harry Kane’s future following the final whistle of Tottenham’s last game of the season today, a 4-2 victory over Leicester City.

The Welshman claimed that he simply did not know whether Kane was staying or leaving but did add that everyone around the club wants him to remain in North London.

Bale said that Kane has had another fantastic season and is still a Tottenham Hotspur player as things stand.

Kane finished the season in style this evening, securing another goal and assist against the Foxes to top the charts for both categories in the Premier League this season.

However, Sky Sports reported this week that Kane has told the club that he wants to leave this summer, with Spurs continuing to fall short of silverware.

The main man himself then told Gary Neville that he wants to be playing in the biggest games and added that he is at a crossroads in his career and needs to talk to Daniel Levy.

On Kane’s future, Gareth Bale said (Sky Sports 23/05/21 at 18:15 as relayed by Alasdair Gold): “I don’t know. He’s a fantastic player and nobody can deny that. He’s had another fantastic season again, but he’s a Tottenham Hotspur player.

“Everyone wants him here at the club. He’s a massive player for us here and everyone wants him to stay.”
