‘Everything is open’ – Mourinho comments on possibility of Rose staying at Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to take on Newcastle United tomorrow night in the Premier League as they search for a 2020/21 European place.

While the Newcastle starting line-up remains a mystery, what’s certain is that Danny Rose will not be amongst the Magpies’ squad for the clash.

Rose remains on loan from Spurs for the rest of the season, making him ineligible for the match against his parent club.

Reports have claimed this month that Rose may be available for a permanent summer transfer for a fee of just £5m (Shields Gazette).

The player himself also recently implied that his career with Spurs was likely over and that he was currently playing for his footballing future at Newcastle (Mirror).

However, Jose Mourinho has now claimed in his pre-match press conference that everything is open and no decisions have been made on Rose’s future.

The Spurs head coach did admit that he had not spoken to Rose since his loan departure.

Journalist Jonathan Veal reports that Mourinho said: “No decisions made, to be honest since he left I didn’t speak with him. I think everything is open.”
