Ex-Arsenal boss Emery claims Pochettino told him he’s ready to accept new job

Ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss, Mauricio Pochettino, is ready to get back into management, according to Unai Emery at least.

The ex-Arsenal manager revealed this week that he chatted to Poch at a recent coaches meeting, at which point they discussed each of their future management plans.

Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham back in late November, with Jose Mourinho being named as his replacement less than 24 hours later. Unai Emery later suffered the same fate and was eventually replaced by Mikel Arteta.

Manchester United are said to be keen admirers of Pochettino, although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still in charge of the Red Devils (Express).

Emery claimed that Pochettino told him he is ready to manage again after a break following the Spurs sacking, stating that the Argentine would be happy to go wherever he receives an offer.

Tottenham have moved from 12 points behind Chelsea when Poch was sacked to just four behind under Mourinho now.

Emery told France Football: “I was at a meeting with coaches, including Mauricio Pochettino. And we asked each other: ‘So, you are thinking of coaching where now’?. And we had the same response: ‘Where will they want me!’”
