Ex-England man comments on whether Poch would be better off at Spurs or United

Mauricio Pochettino has been at Tottenham for four full seasons now, and he isn’t doing too shabby in his fifth either.

Spurs have made one of their best ever starts to a Premier League season so far this year, and their most recent win against Chelsea has paved a promising future for the club.

Poch has managed to qualify for the Champions League for three years running now, finishing in the Prem top three on each of these occasions.

He is also still fighting on four fronts this season for silverware, something he hasn’t yet won at Spurs, and something the club haven’t seen in over a decade.

During his time at Tottenham, Pochettino has had a net spend of under £30m, which makes his achievements all the more ridiculous.

He has managed to build a team by purchasing well, and promoting youth through the academy, something not many big clubs do anymore.

With speculation surrounding Poch and United, ex-Spurs and England man Paul Robinson has weighed in on where the Argentine would do best.

He told BeIN Sports:  “Tottenham did not spend in the summer. Yes his team is strong enough, yes his squad is strong enough, but every manager adds now and then. Tottenham have created a huge deficit with the new stadium – it’s a huge outlay.

“He is better off at Tottenham than Manchester United because it is what he has done at Spurs. It’s his project. He inherited a decent team, he’s now got a very strong squad that competes in the top four and the Champions League.

“I can’t see the attraction of changing from Tottenham to Manchester United, given the current situation.”
