Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has tipped Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane to win the Golden Boot at the upcoming winter World Cup in Qatar.
The Spurs striker has started the season in electric form, firing in ten goals in his first 15 matches in all competitions (Transfermarkt), marking one of his most prolific starts to a campaign.
He also registered another goal for England in the recent Nations League game against Germany, taking his international tally to 51 goals in 75 appearances (Transfermarkt).
That puts Kane just two goals behind Wayne Rooney as the all-time top goalscorer for England (SportingNews), and the 29-year-old has every chance of overtaking Rooney at the tournament in Qatar.
Kane won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and as England prepare to go one better than last year’s final appearance in Euro 2020, Kane will be raring to go and looking to add to his tally.
Now, speaking to OLGB, former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson believes Kane can do it all over again, as long as the national team keep him in good condition.
He said: “England have a good chance of winning the World Cup but Kane must be in great shape and in good form. He is one of the best finishers in the world, he can also drop deep and pick up the ball, he has everything.

“I think he will be top scorer, but of course you have Karim Benzema, who just won the Ballon d’Or. He is an extremely good finisher too, but I think Kane has a great chance to do it,” he added.

You can never bet against Harry Kane taking home a Golden Boot, be it at club level or on the international stage. There’s going to be some incredible players going for it at the World Cup, but with the form Kane is in currently, you have to fancy him to carry that into Qatar.
