Former Fiorentina defender Lorenzo Amoruso has said that Tottenham Hotspur are one of just two clubs who can afford Dusan Vlahovic.

Vlahovic has now become one of the hottest properties in European football, with the striker having found the back of the net on 17 occasions in 18 matches across all competitions so far this season.

It was reported at the start of this month that the race for Vlahvoic was between Tottenham, Arsenal and Juventus, with the two North London clubs alleged to be the front-runners.

However, Manchester City have since emerged as a contender for the Serbian international’s signature.

Gazzetta Dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) revealed a few days ago that City and Spurs were leading the race for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Amoruso believes it will be either Pep Guardiola’s or Antonio Conte’s side who will snap up Vlahovic, insisting that both clubs could pay ‘insane’ money for the striker.

The former Fiorentina and Rangers man told Viola News: “Fiorentina are one of the few teams not to have their accounts in the red and can manage well the money collected by Vlahovic.

“In these conditions, they decide under which conditions to sell. City and Tottenham are the only two who can take him now, but he doesn’t want to leave in January.

“If this continues, the auction will go off anyway in the summer as the English teams have no problem offering insane figures.”

We are likely not going to be able to compete with City financially for Vlahovic but the only small chance we have of snapping him up is if he leaves in January.

There will be a lot more interest in the 21-year-old next summer as his price will drop and a summer deal will thus be almost impossible for us to pull off.
