Ex-player claims Spurs star is adapting his game to become one of the best in world football

Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane seems to develop his all-around game further and further every season, no matter how high he reaches.

The academy graduate now has 173 goals in 265 appearances for his beloved Lilywhites, featuring across nine seasons. His best goal return came in 2017/18 when he bagged an amazing 41 in 48 games across all competitions (Wikipedia).

So far this season, Tottenham have won just four out of 13 games in all competitions, but Kane has still managed to shine with nine goals in 12 games, as well as recording one assist (Transfer Markt).

Since the start of the season, Kane has also scored six and assisted four in four games for England as captain (Transfer Markt).

Many would now argue that the Spurs and England man is now one of the best, if not the best, centre-forward in world football, and ex-Tottenham man Darren Bent agrees that he is heading that way.

Bent claims that Kane is adapting his game to understand the centre-forward role more and is on his way to becoming one of the best in the world.

Bent said (GentingBet): “I think that’s just him. He’s technically very good at holding up the ball and can bring others into play. I think what helps him, particularly for England, is he drops a little deeper because he’s got Sterling or Sancho or Rashford. He can drop a bit deeper to draw one of the centre-halves in behind him and then he can just slip one around the corner or he can play it and someone can put them in.

“I think for Spurs, when you’ve got Son, who’s got a lot of pace and Lucas Moura, they can play a certain way. It’s just the way he’s adapting his game, the older he’s getting, he understands how to play that centre-forward role more.

“He’s well on his way to being one of the best in the world at being an all-round centre-forward because I think, as a goalscorer, he’s right up there with the best of the best in the world and as far as being an all-round centre-forward, he’s on his way to becoming one of the best at that as well.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

There is no doubt about it for me. With Kane’s ability and his age, he is the best all-around centre forward in world football right now. Spurs need to concentrate on bringing the rest of the squad up to Kane’s level to win trophies.
