Ex-Premier League player reveals the one team that can stop City in the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur found out their Champions League quarter final opponents this week as they are set to take part in the only all-English tie of the round.

Spurs were drawn against Premier League leaders and holders Manchester City, with a daunting task to beat them over two legs.

The last time Tottenham were in this position in the Champions League was in 2011 under Harry Redknapp, when they were drawn against, then knocked out by, Real Madrid.

Spurs have never been through to the semi finals of the competition, so the squad would be making history by achieving that this year.

However, the North London side will be heavy underdogs, with Man City as one of the firm favourites to win the entire competition.

Soccer AM star and ex-Prem footballer Jimmy Bullard has revealed that he believes Barcelona and Messi are the only ones who can stop City from lifting the trophy.

He said (Metro): “Man City will be happy [with the quarter-final draw]. I can’t see past them right now.

“The only team City will be worried about is Barcelona. If you play Barca and [Lionel] Messi turns up, it’s goodnight. But I see City winning it.”
