Ex-Premier League star believes Spurs should sign this PSG midfield star – and it isn’t Rabiot

Tottenham Hotspur have not signed a player for over a year now, and became the first Premier League side in history not to sign a single new face over an entire season this year.

The last player Spurs did acquire was winger Lucas Moura from Paris Saint Germain in France, way back in January 2018.

This is the second PSG player Tottenham have taken on in as many years, with right back Serge Aurier also signing from the French giants.

Could Spurs have a chance of pulling off another sensational deal with PSG this summer?

Ex-Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes that Tottenham should be enquiring over the services of Marco Varratti, the midfield terrier.

Tottenham sold one of their silky midfield enforcers this year, with Mousa Dembele jetting off to China, and they still need to find someone to fill the gap.

Cascarino clearly feels that Italian superstar Verratti is a realistic option to do just this.

He said (talkSPORT – as quoted by HITC): “I would want to know what’s happening with Verratti at PSG because I think he is a proven winner in his career. I think he is a fabulous player.”
