Ex-Premier League star claims signing this player could solve Tottenham’s striker crisis

Tottenham Hotspur are currently facing a spell without their star striker Harry Kane, just when they need him the most (BBC).

Heung Min Son is also away on international duty, and Lucas Moura is recovering from a knock of his own.

With a semi-final against Chelsea and Champions League ties against Borussia Dortmund, it’s a less than ideal time to be left with just Fernando Llorente as the only fit senior forward.

However, the January transfer window is still open, and Spurs will have the chance to bring in a new face if they so wish.

Ex-Premier League footballer Liam Rosenior believes Callum Wilson could be their man.

The Bournemouth striker would likely set Spurs back around £50m, but would represent a step towards buying Kane some real back up.

Rosenior believes Wilson is the perfect fit with his pace in behind, and would be delighted to sign for a club like Tottenham.

Rosenior said this on SkySports’ The Debate: “I think the Tottenham fans will be desperate for the club to get someone in.

“Mauricio Pochettino has done such a good job. They were minutes away from knocking Juventus out of the Champions League last season and I am desperate for them to take the next step. Now is the time to make that mark.

“I look at Callum Wilson and think he’s the perfect fit. He is of a profile where he would be delighted to have the chance to play for a club like Tottenham. He gives them the pace to run in behind and I wouldn’t be surprised if they do put a marker down and show they want to keep Pochettino and build for the future.

“I praised Tottenham in the summer because they realised they had an outstanding head coach who has performed nothing short of a miracle to get them in a position where can challenge Manchester City and Liverpool, but now they are in a position where they have to do something.”
