Ex-Spurs and Chelsea star William Gallas predicts the score for this weekend

William Gallas has tipped the London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea to end in a draw this weekend.

The two London teams will face off against each other on Sunday at Stamford Bridge on the second matchday of the Premier League season. Tottenham and the Blues started their campaign with 4-1 and 1-0 wins against Southampton and Everton, respectively.

Antonio Conte will be looking to finally get one over his former side, having failed to get a win or even a draw against them last season. Spurs were on the receiving end of three losses in the league and the Carabao Cup at the hands of the west Londoners under the Italian coach.

However, Conte’s team has significantly improved since they battled it out against Thomas Tuchel’s club last time around.

Fabio Paratici and co have also played a major role in considerably improving the squad’s quality, having facilitated six signings so far in this summer transfer window.

Gallas expects the match to be a closely contested fixture, arguing that Chelsea can earn a point even if with the lack of a striker within their team.

Gallas said (Genting Casino): “Chelsea will draw with Spurs this weekend.

“I think it will be very tight because Tottenham look good, they have good players and the only thing with Chelsea is that they don’t have a real striker and that can be a problem for Chelsea as it becomes difficult for them to score goals or to create chances. That is why that game will be very tight, I predict a draw.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

It can be argued that there is no more perfect time to face Chelsea than right now, looking at the current circumstances.

After all, we have looked quite good in terms of our performances since the latter stages of the previous campaign, which we have continued in the opening game vs the Saints as well.

Chelsea were not at their best against the Toffees, and they are still chasing after targets like Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana and Barcelona star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Daily Mail) to solve their problems in defence and attack. Hence, we have a great chance of getting a favourable result in the derby.
