Ex-Spurs defender left confused by details of Heung-min Son’s arm injury

Ex-Tottenham defender, Alan Hutton, has revealed his confusion over the situation surrounding Heung-min Son and his recent injury.

The South Korean star picked up a fractured arm in the early moments against Aston Villa earlier this month and later had to undergo surgery on the injury.

Mourinho has since implied that he will not be relying on the winger again this season (BBC).

However, Son was able to carry on playing for the full 90 minutes on the day against Villa, despite battling with the pain of the injury.

Sonny even went on to net a rebound from his own penalty and a 93rd-minute winner in the 3-2 victory.

Unfortunately, the player has not been seen on the pitch since and looks to be out for the long-term.

Hutton is confused as to how Son was able to play on for 90 minutes without treatment, before essentially being ruled out for the season by Mourinho (BBC).

He said (Football Insider): “This is the thing that I don’t understand.

“How can you break it, play 89 minutes and then after that be unable to play and out for the rest of the season? And now he is in need of an operation as well! It was a strange one.

“Unless he has made it worse throughout the 90 minutes – do not get me wrong that might have happened.”
