Ex-Spurs fan favourite implies Eriksen would struggle at Real Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur will definitely be busy in the transfer market this summer, after a voluntary hiatus from signing players over the past two windows.

Spurs have already lost fan favourite Mousa Dembele this season, after the Belgian transferred away to China, and the club could struggle to hold onto both Alderweireld and Eriksen too.

Both stars enter the final years of their contracts at the end of this season, meaning it would be Spurs’ last chance to command a considerable fee for them.

Eriksen has recently been linked to a move to Real Madrid, however, one ex-Tottenham star has questioned whether the Dane would succeed.

Rafael Van Der Vaart knows all about playing for Real and Spurs, and implied recently that Eriksen may be a little too quiet for the Bernabeu dressing room.

Van Der Vaart played 77 games for Spurs, scoring 28 and assisting 18. Eriksen on the other hand has played 264 games in a Lilywhite shirt, scoring 63 and setting up 81.

Van Der Vaart said (Standard): “He’s a fantastic player, but he comes across a little bit quiet.”
