Tottenham Hotspur didn’t sign a single new player in the summer transfer window, but they also refused to sell any star players either.

The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Heung Min Son, Erik Lamela, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks and more all even penned new contracts this season, committing their long-term futures at the club.

However, there is still much speculation around a few Tottenham men, especially those whose contracts are running out.

Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Mousa Dembele are all well into their final contracted year at Tottenham, and as it stands would be available to leave on a free come the summer.

Jan and Toby have clauses in their deals to extend by an extra year, but this would make the latter available for just £25m in the summer.

Christian Eriksen is also now being linked with a move away from the club (Tuttosport) as contract talks have stalled between his agent and Spurs (DailyMail).

Eriksen would be available on a free in the summer of 2020.

Dimitar Berbatov has revealed exactly how he thinks his former club can end the speculation surrounding some of their biggest stars.

Talking to Betfair (as quoted by the Evening Standard) he said: “Every player wants to win something so when they look back over their career they can say ‘I won this and I was a champion’ but I hope Tottenham players don’t have to leave to win something.

“I want to see Tottenham win silverware, any silverware so when a player is asked if they want to leave they can say that they’re in the right place and they’re winners. However, they need to win something soon if they want their team to stop thinking the question if they need to leave to have success.

“Like me, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale we all did it… so it’s a normal question to ask. But I don’t want them asking that question, I just want them to win something. The last time Tottenham won something was 11 years ago, f****** hell, I was there.

“And they have everything they need to win. A great coach, a new stadium coming up, great players. That’s why I get p***** off and scream at the TV.”
