Ex-Spurs star claims that Danny Rose is arguably the best left-back in the Prem

Tottenham Hotspur are certainly blessed with a healthy array of talented left-backs at the club at the moment.

Danny Rose is back in the starting XI and back to his best after problems on and off the pitch over the last couple of seasons.

Ben Davies is also back from injury and has always been a very capable and steady understudy to Rose during his time at Spurs.

Not only this, but there is fresh blood on the left side too, with Ryan Sessegnon coming in from Fulham in the summer, with experience at playing left-back and left-wing.

Darren Bent, an ex-Spurs star himself, has now claimed that Danny Rose is arguably the best left-back at Spurs and even in the Premier League as a whole.

He also suggests that Ben Davies is a very good option and has never done anything wrong at Tottenham, but must now wait and be ready for his chance under Pochettino.

Bent said (Football Insider): “He’s now relying on lack of form or injuries because Danny Rose is the best left-back, or one of the best left-backs in the Premier League. He’s unfortunate that he’s in that position.

“He’s very, very good back up, Ben Davies, he’s never really done anything wrong at Spurs. When Danny Rose was going through confidence issues and injury issues, Davies stepped in and did really, really well.

“When Danny Rose is fit he’s arguably the best left-back in the conversation and in the Premier League. I think Ben Davies understands where he’s at, but at the same time he needs know there’s going to be an opportunity where he’s going to be called upon and he needs to be ready.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would argue that Andrew Robertson is in a different league to any other Prem left-back, but Rose would certainly make my top three in the league. I am also extremely happy with Davies as a reliable back-up option and can’t wait to see Sess in action.
