Ex-Spurs star has already been described as a ‘beast’ by his new club

Tottenham Hotspur waved goodbye to their first-choice right-back Kieran Trippier this summer after the defender endured an indifferent season in a Spurs shirt.

Pochettino and Levy clearly felt that it was time for the England man to leave and that they could cope without him, but they have been proved wrong.

Kyle Walker-Peters came into the side and struggled before getting injured, Aurier is nowhere to be seen, Foyth is out, and Davinson Sanchez was dismal at right-back.

Meanwhile, Trippier is thriving in Spain and is said to even be popular among the club’s infamous fitness coach, Oscar Ortega.

The 61-year-old likes to push his players to the limit to test their fitness, which may have been daunting for Tripps coming in as a fresh player in pre-season.

However, the Daily Mail report that the ex-Spurs player passed with flying colours and has been hailed as a ‘beast’ for his physical fitness.

The 28-year-old full-back even excelled at Ortega’s specifically designed 50m ramp with a 30% incline during pre-season.

Can we have him back please, Atletico?
