Ex-Spurs player gives advice to Eberechi Eze amidst rumoured interest

Former Tottenham midfielder, Adel Taarabt, has advised QPR midfielder Eberechi Eze on what he has to do to reach the top level.

Eze has been in fantastic form for QPR over the last couple of years but his performances this season, in particular, have thrust him into the limelight.

The attacking midfielder has netted an impressive twelve goals and provided eight assists across all competitions (transfermarkt).

He has been linked with a move to Tottenham throughout 2019, with reports claiming QPR are ready to sell him for around £20 million (The Sun).

The skilful midfielder recently opened up on his desire to play at the highest level (Sky Sports).

Taarabt certainly knows what it is like to make a big move as a young player, with the Moroccan arriving in North London when he was just 17 years of age in 2007.

He failed to make the grade at Spurs but eventually went on to have a successful spell at QPR. Taarabt has now advised Eze to keep focussing on doing well for QPR.

The Benfica star told QPR’s official twitter handle: “My advice for him (Eze) is to keep working. Give your best for QPR, because QPR fans already recognise just how good he is. Be focused, and try to go to the top. That is my advice, focus on football.”

There are a lot of similarities between Taarabt’s game and Eze’s as both are incredibly skilful on the ball and have fantastic technique but both players can be wasteful at times. While Taarabt was a big hit in the Championship, things didn’t quite work out for him in the Premier League which goes to show that there are no guarantees with Eze either.
