Ex-Tottenham star Sandro makes admission about Kane, Modric and Bale

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Sandro, who was affectionately referred to by the Spurs faithful as ‘The Beast’ has admitted that he did not see Harry Kane or Luka Modric becoming two of the best players in the world.

Sandro joined Tottenham from Internacional back in 2010 and remained with the North London club until 2014, during which time he played alongside Modric and Gareth Bale.

Harry Kane was also coming through the Spurs ranks at this time, although the Brazilian midfielder didn’t necessarily recognise a star quality in the future England captain.

In fact, Sandro didn’t even realise what a world-class midfielder Modric would become, with the Croatian eventually joining Real Madrid, winning Champions League titles for fun and scooping up a Balon d’Or.

However, the former Spurs man did expect Gareth Bale to reach the very top, due to how often he would influence games at Tottenham.

On whether he expected Kane to become one of the best players in the world, Sandro said (Football London): “I didn’t expect that he’d become one of the best players in the world.

“The same with [Luka] Modric as well. But, to be fair, I expected that [Gareth] Bale would, because he affected games more.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Few people realised what a talent Harry Kane would become. His loan spells and academy days didn’t really hint at a world-class player in the making, but that just goes to show what first-team chances and hard work can get you.
