Some Tottenham fans on social media are delighted to see reports linking the club with a move for Marcel Sabitzer with many believing that the RB Leipzig star is exactly the kind of player which the team is crying out for.
Sabitzer has been a long-term target for Spurs but the speculation linking him with a move to the club has intensified over the last few weeks.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham are one of the clubs who are interested in the versatile attacking midfielder.
On Monday, The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick claimed that Jose Mourinho wants to replace Dele Alli with the Austrian international next month.
Just hours later, Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur suggested that the 26-year-old has informed Leipzig executives about his desire to join Spurs.
Some fans are convinced that Sabitzer would be the missing piece of Tottenham’s midfield puzzle and his arrival would improve the side considerably.
Exactly what we need, a huge amount of creative spark into him and still nowhere near his potential. Tanguy, hojbjerg and sabitzer would run the Premier league

Can’t get my head round Sabitzer it’s just to good to be true. Literally the perfect addition. Can play alongside Hojbjerg can cover him or can play RW and has goals and assists in him 😬

We need two signings in Jan to boost the squad for second half of season charge – Sabitzer is definitely someone who would help, along with a CB 👏 https://t.co/Cv2uN43mRw

We want Sabitzer, Sabitzer wants us. This has to happen surely, although he’s not an out and out playmaker he’ll add needed creativity to the squad

I’ve wanted Sabitzer for ages. Captain of Leipzig so he’s another leader, got goals and assists in him, 18 months left his contract, it should be a no brainier.
Not to mention his versatility. Mainly a RW, but we could play him in midfield if needs be. Get it done Spurs. pic.twitter.com/Cmmqx29iC6

On Sabitzer, a fantastic player who showed us what he can do single handily last year. Versatile as well. Also, as much as I rate Gio, he does seem to pick up quite a few injuries. Hojbjerg, Ndombele and Sabitzer. Let’s have it Levy!

Spurs Web Opinion
Since Christian Eriksen departed and Dele Alli fell out of favour, goals from midfield have dried up considerably. While Ndombele and Lo Celso are both top players, they are not really going to score or assist too many times over a season. Sabitzer will almost certainly provide another 10+ goals from midfield.
