Some Spurs fans were delighted to see Ryan Sessegnon open his account for Hoffenheim in their clash against Stuttgart on Saturday and are hoping that the goal can give the youngster confidence to kick on.
After initially being handed opportunities in the Europa League, Sessegnon seems to have now become a regular for Sebastian Hoeness’ side, having started all of their last three Bundesliga games (transfermarkt.com).
The Tottenham loanee started at left-wing back on Saturday as Hoffenheim played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Stuttgart at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
With the home side trailing 2-1 at the start of the second half, Sessegnon raced on to a through ball and produced an excellent finish in-between the goalkeeper’s legs to bring his side level.

Hope we get him back next season, a shame he’s not in the squad so that he can study Bale at close quarters.

Given the fact that we aren’t playing with the lop-sided full-backs anymore. I can’t think of a better backup for Reguilon than Sessegnon. Just needs to get his confidence back which he’s starting to do

Spurs Web Opinion
Sessegnon has attributes that are quite similar to Reguilon’s and he certainly has the potential to reach the Spaniard’s level in the next couple of years. If Real Madrid are to activate Reguilon’s buy-back clause next summer, having Sessegnon to slot in can soften the blow of losing the 23-year-old.
