Stephen Carr didn’t feel any pressure at Spurs

Stephen Carr spoke exclusively to The Spurs Web, thanks to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds. When asked about the atmosphere in the first team dressing room at the time, he explained how easy it was to step into the spotlight as a youngster making his debut for the club.

He said: “In the dressing room we had Colin Calderwood, who was always fun, and Justin Edinburgh as well, god rest his soul — he was brilliant, great to be around.

“There was no pressure as a youngster and everybody was really good with you. We were always having a laugh, always keeping it nice and chilled, until we got on the pitch, I found it very easy actually.

“When people ask me about my debut I don’t remember being worried because the lads around you made you feel so relaxed. It’s really reassuring when you’re a young player.”
