Exclusive: Sources close to Tottenham player deny recent exit rumours – He is set to stay

Sources close to Giovani Lo Celso have exclusively informed The Spurs Web that rumours linking him with a last-minute transfer to Galatasaray are nothing more than ‘fake news’.

Aksam claimed this week that Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray continue to be locked in talks over a deal for Giovani Lo Celso, with the two clubs trying to strike a deal before the Turkish transfer window closes on Friday.

The report added that the midfielder is ‘preparing to say goodbye’ to Tottenham and he is ‘positive’ about the idea of moving to Istanbul club, linking up with old teammates Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele.

It is also asserted that Spurs are ready to part ways with the former Real Betis star as they understand his desire to get game time under his belt.

Yeni Asir also reported that Lo Celso could depart North London this week, with the outlet explaining that Galatasaray had identified the 27-year-old as the man to bolster their midfield department.

It was alleged that the Argentine, who is currently out with an injury, could green-light the move since he is keen on getting regular game time over the coming months.

Giovani Lo Celso is not going anywhere

However, sources close to Lo Celso himself have now informed The Spurs Web that any rumours of a transfer to Turkey are wide of the mark.

The Argentine is set to remain at Tottenham for the rest of the season and fight for a place in the starting line-up once he is back to full fitness.

Spurs Web Opinion

Lo Celso seems determined to prove himself at Tottenham and contribute to what could be an exciting season for the Lilywhites, which I have full respect for. Having a squad of players who all feel they are deserving of a spot in the starting XI is extremely healthy for Ange Postecoglou.
