Exhibition celebrating Tottenham’s Harry Kane opens at the Museum of London

An exhibition celebrating the football journey of Tottenham striker Harry Kane has opened at the Museum of London.

The exhibit, which opened recently at the Barbican-based museum, aims to inspire young people by encapsulating the life of Kane, who grew up in east London just a few miles away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The gallery will display personal items, never-before-seen family photos and various sporting memorabilia to document his route from grassroots football all the way up to the professional level.

Items range from Kane’s three Premier League Golden Boot awards, last season’s Playmaker prize and the 2018 World Cup Golden Boot, as well as a variety of shirts from England, Spurs, Leyton Orient and Millwall.

Speaking about the exhibit, Kane told Tottenham’s official website: “The Museum of London got in touch and wanted a Londoner to inspire young children to be their best, so I am delighted to have all my memorabilia on show with trophies, shirts, golden boots and some personal pieces which haven’t been seen publicly before.

“I’ve got three kids now so I know how important it is to inspire the younger generation and help them understand how far you can go with hard work, dedication and self-belief.

“The display runs until the World Cup and is free to enter so I’d encourage everyone to go down and see it if they have the chance.

“There are some really special items in there – from my World Cup Golden Boot and MBE to the shirt and armband from my first game as England captain – which mean a lot to me.”

The display is free to view between 10 am and 5 pm at the Museum of London and runs from its opening date on Saturday, May 21 until December 2022.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kane has had a crazy rise to the top and it really came out of nowhere after he had a few tricky spells away on loan.

He was just a regular London boy that dreamt of becoming a footballer, and this exhibit should do a good job of documenting his journey with some of his personal items all the way to his sporting achievements.
