Expected return date on Hugo Lloris

Tottenham goal keeper Hugo Lloris missed the shock defeat to Watford last week through injury, and is said to be a doubt for the next few weeks.

The French World Cup winner picked up a thigh injury a couple of weeks ago, and Tottenham announced on their twitter page that the keeper would be out for three weeks.

However, French paper L’Equipe disagree with this injury prognosis, saying that the reality is ‘a little less alarmist’.

The newspaper have reported that the shot stopper should resume training on Monday 24 September, with a Premier League return likely to be against Huddersfield Town, just over two weeks from now.

Although the club captain will miss the crucial clash against Liverpool this weekend, Spurs fans will be glad to have him back in such a short period of time.

Michel Vorm will continue to deputise for the injured Lloris until then, with Paulo Gazzaniga occupying the bench position.
