‘Extremely excited’ – Striker reacts after sealing move to Tottenham

Jude Soonsup-Bell has taken to Twitter to express his delight at sealing his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day from rivals Chelsea.

Soonsup-Bell began his career at the Stamford Bridge outfit at the age of nine and developed through their youth system. He even made one appearance for the Chelsea first-team, playing 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup last season against Brentford (Transfermarkt).

The young striker was particularly prolific at U18 level for Chelsea, where he scored 23 goals in 25 games (Transfermarkt).

The forward who had entered the final six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and has instead joined Spurs on a free transfer (Evening Standard).

He has also represented England at various youth levels and has played alongside current members of the Spurs academy including Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett on while on U19 duty.

The 19-year-old was confirmed as a new Tottenham Hotspur player earlier today and will join the development squad, having agreed on a deal through to 2025 before being expected to head out on loan in the summer.

Soonsup-Bell shared a message on social media today to mark the move across London, and appears to be very positive about his future at Tottenham.

Alongside a photo of him signing his new contract, Soonsup-Bell tweeted: “Extremely excited to have signed for such a great club. Can’t wait to get started on this new journey, looking forward to many years of success #COYS.”

The move to bring in Soonsup-Bell aligns with Tottenham Hotspur’s goal of improving the development squads and helping to strengthen the production line of talent coming through the ranks at the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I don’t know a great deal about Soonsup-Bell to be honest, but it’s nice to see us taking a youngster off Chelsea for once. Let’s hope he can come into our youth team and make a good impression, because the development squad desperately needs improving here if we are to maintain a conveyor belt of young, English talent at the club.
