The FA have denied reports Harry Redknapp and David Beckham are being lined up for England.
Fabio Capello is set to step down in 2012 and there has been talk of Beckham taking up an assistant role to Redknapp at the national team.
In a short statement responding to the story an FA spokesman said: “There are no such talks and we have not discussed any potential succession plan with anyone at this point.”
