FA report shows multi-million figure spent by Spurs on agents

The FA has released their annual statement showing how much Premier League clubs have spent on deals involving agents over the course of the year (FA).

The account takes into consideration deals which have taken place with a registered intermediary during the period of February 1, 2019 to January 31, 2020.

The statement shows a staggering £263.3million was paid out by Premier League clubs to agents and intermediaries over the course of the 12-month period.

Tottenham featured ninth in the list of the 20 Premier League clubs with a total spending of £12,499,074 on agents and intermediaries.

As expected, Liverpool and Manchester City top the pile in the region of around £30m each in spending and Burnley sit at the bottom of the table with just under £4m of fees being paid out.

A FIFA regulation was introduced in 2015 to account all dealings with intermediaries and the results are staggering when you take into account the huge sums spent by the majority of Premier League clubs.

It is surprising to see the likes of West Ham and Everton ahead of us in this table. The figures spent on intermediaries by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, although not surprising, is astounding.
