Fabio Capello names Spurs star he would offer to Juventus to sign Paulo Dybala

Former England manager Fabio Capello has claimed that Harry Kane is the only player he would consider swapping for Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

Dybala has struggled for form at the start of the season, having scored just once in eight league appearances for Juve this campaign.

With only 18 months left on the 27-year-old’s contract in Turin, there has been plenty of speculation linking Dybala with a move to the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on the idea taking the Argentine to North London (Todofijaches), while Manchester United have also been suggested as a possible destination.

According to Sky Sport Italia (via The Daily Mail), Juve are ready to offer the former Palermo man a £9m-per-year contract until 2025 but the Serie A giants are ready to sell the forward if he refuses to sign the deal.

However, Capello believes that Dybala is invaluable for the current champions.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: “I said I wouldn’t swap Dybala to get Pogba.

“If I could, I’d trade him with Tottenham’s English striker Harry Kane.”

The Italian insisted that contracting COVID back in April is the reason why Dybala has not been at his best this season.

He said: “Covid is the explanation (for Dybala’s form). Especially for a player like Dybala, who needs to dribble [past] a man.

“The impression is that he’s a bit unfinished. He captivates but leaves doubts. He certainly has superior qualities, he really has all you need.

“He needs the physical conditions to return to his best. Paulo needs to be 100 per cent well, because if you are well physically, the head leads you to face the opponents, the team-mates, the coach and even the club.

“Dybala can do everything on the pitch if he is well, even playing in a trident with Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo.”

The only way we would be able to afford Dybala in January (assuming he does not sign a new deal with Juve) is if we can raise a significant amount of transfer funds through the sales of Dele Alli and Davinson Sanchez.
