Tottenham dodge potential transfer bullet after AC Milan deal collapses

A fresh report from Italy has claimed that Fabio Paratici wanted to raid Tottenham Hotspur for a full-back this summer if he had joined as AC Milan’s new sporting director.

Over the last couple of weeks, have heard contradictory reports about the former Tottenham managing director of football and where he is headed.

It was initially reported that Daniel Levy’s efforts to bring Paratici back to Spurs would end in defeat as the Italian looked set to take over AC Milan’s sporting director.

However, since then, Tottenham have been handed fresh hope to sign Paratici as his move to Milan has stalled.

Fabio Paratici could raid Tottenham for full-back

A fresh report in Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) states that Paratici was already making plans for a potential summer rebuild at AC Milan.

The 52-year-old wanted to build an Italian core at the San Siro and one man on his radar was Destiny Udogie, who he signed from Udinese when he was at Tottenham.

The outlet says that the 22-year-old was seen as a potential replacement for Theo Hernandez, with Paratici keen on reuniting with the player in Milan.

It remains to be seen whether Milan can rekindle a deal for Paratici to join the club, and whether Udogie will become a target this summer regardless of the director of football.

Milan have concerns about Tottenham’s stance on Destiny Udogie

The report says that Milan are aware that Spurs are ‘not an easy club to negotiate’ with and thus realise that a deal for Udogie is an extremely ambitious idea.

Not only are Spurs expected to value the left-back at a high figure but they are also expected to make it difficult for him to depart.

There is thus said to be fear at the San Siro that Milan may be priced out of a move for the Italy international, even with Paratici’s potential connections.
